I have been racing my bicycle for the past 12 years, largely self-coached. I hired Dillon in 2017 to help bring my training plans into better focus and see more gains. I raced against him a few times (and lost every time), and while being a fierce competitor, he seemed to be a really nice guy. Once we were up and rolling, Dillon really listened to me and approached my training plan with a very holistic point of view. I work full time and sometimes life gets in the way, and Dillon adjusts the training plan accordingly. He also keeps me motivated to stay with the program.
2018 was shaping up to be my best season to date. I was ripping fast and feeling great. Just as the season was picking up, I crashed during a race, and fractured my pelvis. To say I was devastated would be an understatement. At the time, we were concerned if I was going to walk again. The whole time Dillon was by my side encouraging me to rehab, stay focused and be optimistic. 20 weeks later I set my goal on the Oregon Uphill State Championship. Winning that race was the greatest achievement of my cycling career. I could not have achieved this without the support of Dillon. The rehab and training was a roller coaster emotionally and physically, but Dillon kept me focused and positive. We constantly had to readjust the training plan, and he accommodated me in every way.
I would not have achieved the cycling success without Dillon's guidance and support. I'm back on track for 2019 and can't wait to see where this goes. Set up a meeting with him if you're looking for a coach that's focused on more than just the training plan, can motivate yet maintain realistic expectations, and will push you to give just a little bit more.
